The Description sections of the portal have their own set of toolbars associated with them. We'll go over those toolbars in this section of Help.

Description_Section

The Alerts, Business Promotions, Classified Ads, Community Page, Login Page, Refer-a-Friend, Events, Feedback, Groups, Marketplace Business Ads, and News Articles all have editable descriptions in them. The toolbars described below are the same for each of these areas.

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select the Font Group.

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select the Font Size.

Font_Size

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select a Background Color.

Background_Color

Click on Add Custom Color... and then Define Custom Colors>> for additional color options.

Click to choose the color you'd like to use, then click on the Add to Custom Colors button.

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select a Font Color. You can also choose additional custom colors by clicking on Add Custom Color...

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select a Symbol to insert.

Insert_Symbol

Click on Drop_down_arrow to select the size of the Table you'd like to insert. Once the drop down menu opens, move your mouse over the grid to increase or decrease the table size. Click in the box the appropriate size of the table to insert the table. The following graphic will insert a table that is three rows long and four columns wide.

Below is an explanation of the buttons on the Insert Table drop down menu, depending on the active selection, some or all of the buttons may not be available.

Insert_Row_Button

Inserts a row above the selected row.

Merge_Cells_Horizontal

Click in one cell then the button, the cell to the right is merged with the selected cell.

Insert_Row_Before

Inserts a row below the selected row.

Merge_Cells_Vertically

Click in one cell, then the button, the cell directly below is merged with the selected cell.

Delete_Row_Button

Deletes the selected row(s).

Split_Merged_Cells

Click in a merged cell, click on the button, the cells are split.

Insert_Column_Left

Inserts a column to the left of the selected column.

Delete_Cells

Click in a cell, click the button, a white space is created that is not editable.

Insert_Column_Right

Inserts a column to the right of the selected column.

Set_Cell_Properties

Click on a cell, click on the button, the Table Wizard opens.

Delete_Column

Deletes the selected column(s)

Set_Table_Properties

Click on a cell, click on the button, the Table Wizard opens.

Click on the Table Wizard button to open the Table Wizard dialog box. Here you can change the Table Design and the Table and Cell Properties.

The Table Design tab lets you add columns and rows as well as change the width and height.

The Table Properties tab give you options regarding borders, adding a background image, and cell spacing.

The Cell Properties tab gives you options regarding alignment, background, and cell dimensions.

The Accessibility tab lets you create a tool tip message for each table cell that users with impaired vision can hear those tool tips as they hover over the cells with the mouse. Narrative software uses the information from the Accessibility table fields (heading rows, columns, caption alignment and summary) to produce a verbal message.

To add images to the Description, click on the Image Manager button.

The Image Manager dialog box opens.

You'll see any previously uploaded images, click on the image to insert it into the description.

Click on Drop_down_arrow to see additional pages of images.

Click Remove to remove the image from the Image Manager. This does not remove the picture from your computer.

To add images to the Image Manager, click on the Browse button.

The Choose File dialog box opens.

Navigate to the file on your computer.

Click on the file to highlight it.

Click on the Open button.

The file location is populated in the text box to the left of the Browse button.

Click on the Upload button to add the picture to the Image Manager.

The following is a list of the buttons in the Editor and the actions they perform.

Spell_Check

Checks the spelling of the text in the description

Undo_Button

Undoes the last action

Search_Button

Searches for text

Redo_Button

Redoes the last action

Print_Button

Prints text

Superscript_button

Creates superscript text

Cut_Button

Cuts selected text

Subscript_Button

Creates subscript text

Copy_Button

Copies selected text

Number_Button

Creates a numbered list

Paste_Button

Pastes text

Bullet_Button

Creates a bulleted list

Copy_Word_Button

Pastes text with MS Word formatting

Left_Justify_Button

Left aligns text

Select_All

Selects all in Description Box

Center_Align_Button

Center aligns text

Bold_Button

Makes selected text Bold, click again to undo

Right_Justify_Button

Right aligns text

Italics_Button

Makes selected text Italics, click again to undo

Justify_Button

Justify aligns text

Underline_Button

Underlines selected text, click again to undo

Horizontal_Rule_Button

Inserts a horizontal line in the Description

Strikethrough_Button

Places line through text, for editing
